The My Community project will be working with a variety of youth charities across the region, raising awareness and funds to support these organisations. Here are some of the charities we will be supporting.
Inspired Youth has been working with the Anchorage Trust since 2015. The Anchorage Trust is a supported housing youth charity supporting young people in the Great Yarmouth area. Started in 2015, the Trust now supports over 25 young people in providing suitable accommodation and tenancy support. Inspired Youth has been working with the Trust since the autumn last year, developing and delivering employability workshops through the Trust’s programme, Brighter Futures.

Break is a youth charity working across the region supporting children, young people, and families in four key areas: young people in care and moving on; children and young people with disabilities; families in need of support and children at risk. The charity was started back in 1968 by Geoffrey and Judith Davison and their friend Lesley Morley to provide holidays for children and young people with disabilities which would give their parents a break too. They chose Norfolk as a great place to have a holiday.
Inspired Youth started working with Break in 2015 across a number of events. Inspired Youth formed part of a collective that supported the 2015 Go Go Dragons trail in Norwich, and was fortunate to be able to create a school enterprise activity using the dragons.
As part of the fundraising and awareness of Inspired Women, Inspired Youth worked with Break to host a ‘Girls Night Out’ fashion and pampering evening, raising money for both organisations to continue their work in the region.

Inspired Youth has supported Nelsons Journey during their annual Christmas Quiz, which it won in 2014. In 2016, Inspired Youth hosted a Charity Challenge in aid of Nelsons Journey to support their work in the region.

The Big C is a charity which about improving the lives of those effected by cancer in the Norfolk and Waveney area. The charity was founded in 1980 after two individuals, both suffering from cancer, decided to improve the availability of care in the region. Since this time the appeal has raised over £25 million to support facilities and care for local people effected by Cancer.
Inspired Youth has been very much been effected by the illness this year with the sad passing of two huge supporters of our work. In January this year, Caroline Brooker, the head teacher at North Walsham High School passed away after many months of suffering from the illness. Caroline very much supported the creation and start of Inspired Youth back in 2010, and without her we wouldn’t be where we are today. In May, another great supporter David Shiret passed away after a brief illness. David created the opportunity for the very first Inspired Youth event in June 2010, marking the start of our journey.
