The My Community project will be working with a variety of youth charities across the region, raising awareness and funds to support these organisations. Here are some of the charities we will be supporting.
Break is a youth charity working across the region supporting children, young people, and families in four key areas: young people in care and moving on; children and young people with disabilities; families in need of support and children at risk. The charity was started back in 1968 by Geoffrey and Judith Davison and their friend Lesley Morley to provide holidays for children and young people with disabilities which would give their parents a break too. They chose Norfolk as a great place to have a holiday.
Inspired Youth started working with Break in 2015 across a number of events. Inspired Youth formed part of a collective that supported the 2015 Go Go Dragons trail in Norwich and will do so again with the Hares in 2018. We’ve also been fortunate to run enterprise day challenges for young people using Break’s Dragons and Ducks.
As part of the fundraising and awareness of Inspired Women, Inspired Youth worked with Break to host a ‘Girls Night Out’ fashion and pampering evening, raising money for both organisations to continue their work in the region.
Finally, Inspired Youth is hosting the first ‘Inspired 2 Run’ 5k Fun Run to raise more funds for Break and Inspired Youth.
